3 steps* I think would make a huge difference to quality of life and retention in Secondaries.
1. Release some pressure on GCSEs and grades.
2. End data culture.
3. Encourage subjects to be subjects.
(*not a complete or perfect solution but it would go a long way)

Bewildering to see many of the people appalled by this M&S ad for attacking the traditional family Christmas being the same people who have voted for and supported a government for the last 13 years that have destroyed most of our social services and ruined the economy…🤔
A phenomenal football player.
A gentleman of the game.
A foundational pillar of Manchester United as it is known around the world.
RIP Sir Bobby Charlton.
Except the strikes worked, didn’t they?
Another dumb fucking Tory, spouting anything that sticks, believing that working class people and parents are stupid and don’t understand the reasons that teachers went on strike.
Get these fuckers out. Heartless, dishonest, pointless.
Last year, school strikes resulted in 25 million school days being lost cumulatively.
Children should not have to suffer a repeat of this disruption.

has he considered that a lot of people view university education as an opportunity to learn more about a subject they’re genuinely passionate about rather than simply preparation for making as much money as they possibly can
Fantastic start to @LitdriveUK this morning. Does anyone have a screenshot for the rooms the rest of today? Our group didn’t get hold of the timetable emailed over by the person who booked it. Thanks in advance! #LitDriveCPD23
I received a card from a lovely Year 11 girl who arrived at my school before Christmas. She was a Ukrainian Refugee and she was quiet, nervous and struggled quite a lot with her English /1
Not sure why I’m tweeting this, but I know we’re in a retention crisis and that teaching is incredibly tough at the moment but this card, this experience with this student, has reminded me why I do what I do and that many students are resilient, hard-working and kind.
So that is what she did. And she worked bloody hard. We went through her many stories (she had such lovely ideas for stories) and transactional pieces, and I when she got upset and felt lost I just reminded her of what she achieved so far and how far she’d come /6
It takes a strong school community to make a public stand. 👏🏻
This is a powerful moment of silence
Not everyone will agree, but everyone in some shape or form will agree that Ofsted policy needs reformed for pupils, parents and teachers.
Ofsted does not belong to government. It belongs to everyone. We all have a duty to review how Ofsted performs and point out its deficiencies, where we believe it to be failing …
