Admin, it may be extra work, but check on your staff individually. Group check-ins are good, but the ones really struggling may not want to speak up in a group setting. Teachers, also check on each other, especially if you know someone is having a tough time. Strength in Team!

To the people who say it’s all about the kids. Just remember the kids learn in an environment created by the teacher. A teacher who is supported, encouraged and appreciated will create a more positive and dynamic learning environment than a teacher who is not supported that way.

If districts are expecting teachers to teach online and for students to sit at a computer screen for 5 to 6 hours per day then you need to rethink your plan. Because that's not effective teaching and learning. That is not how virtual schools do it because it does NOT work.

Some leaders think students are priority over teachers, & I get the sentiment, but how much time do they spend w/ students & how well do you know them? Teachers spend all day w/them & know them well. Teachers make students a priority. Take care of teachers; they take care of kids

For the people hating on teachers, Doctors & nurses are trained to deal with viruses & provided adequate resources. Athletes can opt out even though provided a Bubble & more than adequate resources. Teachers show up w/ no bubble, training to deal w/ virus or adequate resources.

26 million people work from home at least part time and we think it’s being savvy. 3 million Teachers have to do it during a pandemic and people want their pay cut since they think they’re not working. Teachers sure do put up with a lot of crap just to educate our youth.

Admin, once school plans & back up plans are in place, make sure your priority is the support & morale of your staff. There has never been a time when it is more important. It should be your main focus for the entire school year.

To all the admin who are stressed out & having sleepless nights, your staff doesn’t expect you to have all the answers or to be perfect. Just give your best, keep them informed & let them know you are all in this together. This gives them trust in you and appreciation for you.

I hope schools keep in mind that most students haven't seen their classmates in 6 months. Don't punish kids for being kids when they get back in the classroom. They will want to talk, ,laugh, play, share experiences. Hopefully schools are making adjustments for this to happen.

Our school board voted for us to start the year in 100% distance learning and I feel like this is the first time I can actually sleep somewhat peacefully in what feels like forever.

I hope all other schools do the same. I feel so scared for the teachers who have to go back.
