This Fourth of July is a Reawakening. We celebrate 250 years of the Declaration of Independence and Freedom made centuries ago. While many have died from the beaches of Normandy to the mud of Mississippi protecting that declaration and the constitution that followed, it has never been a document of enforcement. We have had to fight to make sure it lived up to the hallowed creed it claims, that all men are created equal. For 250 years the people had to fight to make sure government lived up to its written promises and values. We’ve had to be ever vigilant to enforce the laws of our most sacred document, the Constitution. This weekend I choose to celebrate those fighters who loved the idea of this democracy more than this country loved them. Who died not only on foreign wars but by the hands of their neighbors and fellow Americans who didn’t believe in equality for all. As the American democracy is dying we fight to save it and honor those who lead the way over these 250 years. Add the names you honor to this list. These Americans I honor:
James Armistead Lafayette
Stagecoach Mary
Sojourner Truth
Nat Turner

This is absolutely bonkers: newly uncovered text messages reveal that Republican operatives INSIDE the North Carolina State Board of Elections are secretly collaborating with the NC Republican Party to force local elections officials to obey partisan directives - or be fired.
This is a smoking gun: @DallasWoodhouse, the disgraced former leader of the NCGOP who Republicans nevertheless hired to help run the State Board of Elections, is working hand-in-hand with NCGOP legal counsel to pressure officials and even arrange votes.
Britain built its wealth by plundering its colonies.
After renaming Ghana the Gold Coast, British colonial rule spent more than 136 years stripping the country of its gold, filling its own vaults, and looting priceless cultural treasures for display in British museums.
Today, despite having no significant gold mines of its own, the United Kingdom sits on roughly 400,000 gold bars worth an estimated $320 billion,a fortune which was built on centuries of colonial exploitation and extraction.
It turns out the great egg price increase that helped topple Joe Biden's presidency was <checks notes> due to an alleged conspiracy among egg producers to artificially increase prices and the coverage of that fact is a blink-and-you-miss-it story on the NYT website 🙃
"Operation Flockout" is targeting Flock nationwide.
"Knock the Flock" is doing the same across the Midwest.
2 groups. 1 goal:
Remove every Flock camera in 🇺🇸 by 2027.
For the first time ever, the surveillance state is facing organized, multi-regional resistance.
Blessed are the privacy makers. 🕊️
I doubt many people are going to read the 55-page report "From Vanity to Insanity: How the White House Cheated the American People Out of Their 250th Birthday" put together by Democratic staff of the House Natural Resources Committee so here's how it ends
😂 This is why so many of us accidentally got a classical music education from Saturday morning cartoons.
Warner Bros took absolute bangers from “fancy dead European dudes,” added anvils, explosions, and one very unlucky coyote… and turned them into generational earworms.
Huge credit to the legend @Vinheteiro for this perfect medley that’s been living rent-free in our heads for years.
Childhood = classical music class without realizing it 😂🎹💥
What’s the one piece that instantly takes you back to Looney Tunes?
A restaurant in Texas used PAXIS to make small, lawful changes to protect its staff from ICE.
They closed off a second public entrance and made it private.
They clearly marked kitchen doors, offices, storage rooms, rear hallways, and delivery entrances:
“PRIVATE AREA”
They moved employee rosters, schedules, logs, and records out of public view.
They trained staff not to answer questions from ICE and to calmly say:
“We do not consent to entry into private areas.”
“Please speak with the manager.”
“I choose to remain silent.”
This is why PAXIS exists and is free. To help a business owner use lawful boundaries to protect workers, customers, and constitutional rights.
Help get PAXIS into the hands of immigrants and allies across the USA: https://t.co/Txyhf9LSil
Eddie Glaude: “Stephen Miller is a racist. He’s a white nationalist. White nationalists have seized the federal government. Great Replacement Theory motivates this immigration policy. We need to call them for what they are. This is a white nationalist agenda and Stephen Miller and all of these folk are just simply rabid racists”
