It's a new school year, and for the first time I'm staying in the same school AND the same classroom. Proud to be part of @KingEdwardLions . Grade 8s, here's a sneak peek of our room. See you on Tuesday! @gecdsbpro
My class created this on the last day of school. Many of them are moving off to high school next year, but I know they have a bright future and I look forward to seeing what great things they do. Have a great summer everyone! @KingEdwardLions@gecdsbpro
"Colour is a power which directly influences the soul." ~Kandinsky. 7/8W is showing their true colours, with their display of colour wheel art. @KingEdwardLions@gecdsbpro
The grade 8s were able to investigate microorganisms found in pond water samples. For many of them it was their first time using microscopes and students were thrilled to see these tiny living creatures up close. @KingEdwardLions@gecdsbpro
Mr. Essery visited today to give environmental stewardship presentations to our intermediate students. Grade 7s dissected pellets to investigate the different creatures that owls prey on. @KingEdwardLions@gecdsb
7/8W celebrated National Croissant Day with Mdm Mailhot in French yesterday. After snacking on croissants, they went on to create artwork for our school's FSL bulletin board. @KingEdwardLions@gecdsbpro
There may be a lot of snow on the ground, but that doesn't mean the snowmen can't have some fun. Check out this artwork from 7/8W. @KingEdwardLions@gecdsbpro
Our grade 7 and 8s went to the Toldo Lancer Centre at UWindsor today, to partake in their low ropes challenge course. Lots of team building activities, fun and fresh air was had by all. @KingEdwardLions@gecdsbpro
7/8W tested their operational skills by playing some of the cool math games available on YouCubed such as 'Race to One Hundred' and 'How Close to 100'. @KingEdwardLions@gecdsbpro@youcubed
That's a wrap for 4/5W at David Maxwell PS this year! Thank you to my wonderful students, as well as @HoffmanSartor and the staff for an incredible 6 months. I am excited to be returning to @KingEdwardLions for grade 7/8 this fall. Have a phenomenal summer everyone!
On our last Friday of the school year, grade 4/5 worked on another STEM challenge to build plastic straw bridges. The goal was to create one hold that could at least 100 pennies. @HoffmanSartor@gecdsbpro
This afternoon, grade 4/5 engaged in a stem challenge to build a structure designed to hold the most pennies. Many of the groups created solid enough structures designed to hold at least 80 cents! @HoffmanSartor@gecdsbpro
Today, grade 4/5 ventured downstairs and read with our friends in early years. As you can see, both kinders and juniors had a wonderful time together. @MariaDrouillard @HoffmanSartor@gecdsb
Grade 4/5 went on a translation quest this morning. They had to follow a series of steps to see if they could correctly move their shape around the grid and end up matching my grid. @HoffmanSartor@gecdsbpro
