By telling them that you have opted for postpaid connection (which almost no one wants) and you have to send an SMS CANCEL <Mobile number> to 1900 if want a prepaid connection, which cancels the port out request that also blocks new Port out request for next 90 days.
If Airtel deny this type of calls to the customer (who wants to port), then anyone can understand the simple logic that this trick helps only Airtel not the new operator. And details of the customer who wants to port out lies with these two parties (Airtel & new operator) only.
