@vicgoddard "There's nothing more you can do to improve your attendance", "I'd be more than happy for my children to attend this school "-HMI. B&A given ES...they don't need too much of an excuse to punish... dont you dare challenge/make complaint...they'll put you right back in your box
@Headteacherchat "And here he comes, ladies and gentlemen โ Chen, the onceโinโaโgeneration talent who lit up the KS2 SATs scene before that shock hiatus. You can feel the electricity in the air as rumours spread that he could step back onto the pitch..."
@MsGHist We had ours just before the Easter holiday...on reflection, out of the 7 previous inspections this one was the toughest in terms of process. The people themselves (4 HMI and 1 OI) were very pleasant btw
@Julespg@SwailesRuth You're telling me it's a curse...this is what Expected Standard looks like in our primary school...lead inspector said "there is nothing more you can do than you're already doing to improve attendance... "behaviour is excellent" "I'd be happy for my own children to attend..."
@_MrBonney_PE@PaulGarvey4 When discussing behaviour and you get one of the HMI's tell you that they would be happy to send their children to our school but you can't get a higher grade because of attendance is a bit strange to say the least!
@roth128@PaulGarvey4 Yes. We don't off roll children until we're sure that they're safe and in education and we have several children who have chronic medical conditions and that's before discussing the PA children.Only 8% of neighbourhoods in England are more deprived but its not taken into account
@roth128@PaulGarvey4 Almost identical to our school...ofsted came this week...saw that Maths/English was above national average combined etc....so went for the 'wider curriculum'...especially the subjects that weren't part of a scheme.
@PaulGarvey4@_MrBonney_PE and said that 'leaders, there is nothing else more that you can do to accelerate your attendance (which is in line with national) which is why we have to go back to the 'Expected Standard'. It was a deflating moment if I'm honest!
@PaulGarvey4@_MrBonney_PE and all but this paragraph in Strong Standard "Leadersโ actions to identify and tackle barriers
to attendance result in high attendance or
rapid and/or notable improvement, both overall
and for individuals and groups." To add insult to injury the lead inspector recognised..
