The colonies weren’t a different country from England. I believe all of the founding fathers were born in British territory. The founding fathers were conquerers of an undeveloped land that the natives had plenty of time to do themselves. They’re no more immigrants than the “native Americans” were to the wilderness. The founding fathers created an entity able to be migrated INto (the im -part of immigrant) You can’t migrate into an area that isn’t something already.
