@gooseothy Wonder bros feature animation still do 2D animation. they hadn't ever stopped doing 2D. There're movies like... Space jam 2 and the day the earth blew up even Coyote vs. Acme have a 2D animated scene(I hadnt watched it fully I heard that it does)

I know that the lighting on the characters is better than in this video, and a lot of the backgrounds were hand drawn in Space Jam compared to the Sonic movie, where a lot of it is just live action.

Depending on the film, they have quite a similar amount of work put into them as a fully animated film would. Like... storyboards, designs, etc. People put a lot of hard work into those. @Munch93549305 @wetdrywall27924 @Funni288271 People do not use 2D anymore in live action hybrids because it doesn't really fit and is bright and cel shaded compared to realistic CG. Sonic is a video game character, his style should be able to work both in 2D and 3D.

@idiottube9 @wetdrywall27924 @Funni288271 I was just answering the question "Why would anyone hate this", It indeed does not blend in well with the live action footage and stucks out like a sore thumb. Maybe that the reason why some people would hate it. I'm not saying that I specifically do.
