D. Scott, I don’t want to speak for everyone but I think it’s fair to say I represent the so called negative crowd (I prefer realistic). I’ve seen you come after us several times the last week or so, so I’m just gonna level with you.

Firstly, I enjoy reading your work. And I understand that you work for the university. But it’s not you being positive that’s frustrating, it’s when you try to spin K-State football being terrible. It’s insulting to our intelligence to be posting about Klieman’s win percentage including NDSU games and trotting out the “one of the only x amount of programs to have 8 wins the previous 4 years” thing. Be positive about basketball tonight all you want, it’s valid. They’re very fun. But when you try to spin obviously bad situations you can’t get upset with people for calling you on it.

The football program was picked 1st or 2nd in the Big 12 the last 3 seasons and they don’t even have a top 4 finish to show for it. We have a right to be upset about that and call it what it is, a failure. And again, I get it, your hands are tied given your position. But I think if you dropped the spin on a football program that is obviously trending the wrong direction, people wouldn’t be ready to bite your head off every time you tweet.

Just my 2 cents. Want to reiterate I really love reading your work so I’m just trying to keep it a buck with ya. Keep the stories about our athletes coming, they’re fantastic. But meet us halfway boss man.
