INDIA to BHARAT: Is it constitutionally possible to change the name? Should we really change the name?

The opposition alliance is already up in arms upon hearing the news of India's name change to Bharat. Some of them are saying that this cannot be done as the constitution states, "India, that is Bharat".

It turns out that, according to Article 368, the government can indeed change the name. All they need is a simple majority in both houses of Parliament to pass a resolution to rename India as Bharat. The government would then need to amend the Constitution in approximately 10 places where it mentions "the government of India." It will be a cakewalk in the Lok Sabha. With the support of friendly parties like the YSR Congress and BJD, it should be passed in the Rajya Sabha as well. So, the name change is a foregone conclusion, in all likelihood.
