@whereIdarego It's difficult to separate someone throwing shit at a wall and something that is "about anything".

It's a harsh thing to say, but in the context of the rest of the movie and comments from Cregger, I feel like he threw shit at the wall.

Maybe it's genius. Or maybe it's lazy.

@whereIdarego I guess. Sorta feels like a "it's so vague it can be about anything" argument. Which I suppose you can say, but that feels more lazy? Instead of being about "something" the movie is about "anything".

My biggest issue with Weapons is that I felt it's message was incoherent.

@MrGrande5 He doesn't have to give an interview, from the actual story of the movie I can see that it's not really saying anything about school shootings.

I really think people are just assuming kids + gun in the sky = school shooting narrative. That's a big reach.

And the director made it clear that it means nothing, which makes sense because it makes no sense in the film

People clowning on the rifle scene from Weapons have to also remember that Josh Brolin verbatim says "they're like weapons" in the movie.

I think the gun would be less clowned on if the movie didn't constantly act like it was saying something anywhere close to coherent

Angie genuinely had the possibility to be the best antagonist in the series if they handled her correctly. A V3 alternate scenario with Kaede as the protag and Angie replacing Kokichi would be insane.
