I’ve been feeling terrible since I heard about the death of one of my former students.

During my teaching practice PT in Kwara State as a 🇳🇬 soldier, he once told me about his dream of joining the Nigerian Army.

I gave him the guidelines to follow after his WAEC, and eventually, he joined the 🇳🇬 Army.

I was genuinely happy that the young man achieved his dream.

But shortly after, he lost his life during an attack in Sokoto.

Since then, I’ve been asking myself, “Did I play a part in this?”

Maybe this is what makes the pain harder, knowing that I encouraged someone to pursue a dream that eventually took his life.

But deep down, I know he had already chosen that path.
I only helped him understand how to pursue it.

May his soul rest in peace. 🕊️🇳🇬
