@ClarenceHouse@NPA1921 Is this a fair and real representation from frontline pharmacists or just a photo opportunity with the royal family for the elite? 🤔
Contractor charges patients *extra* for NHS prescriptions
“Keats confirmed that it sometimes asked patients to pay extra, claiming the NHS does not fully reimburse it for some expensive medications, causing losses for the business.”

@reeyah1@tony_schofield Your so-called professional responses here already tells us why locum pharmacists don't want to work for you in Birmingham where there is a high number of Pharmacists in the locality.
At least get your facts straight before crying wolf that there is a shortage of Pharmacists.
@reeyah1 Well maybe you should start gathering data and 'draw' bar charts like most professional businesses do these days in the modern era for a root cause analysis, then you would know why locums in Birmingham aren't available to work for you? 🤔
@reeyah1 So you're basing your argument there is a local shortage of Pharmacists in Birmingham because you can't get 7 of your previous regular locums anymore.
Are you saying there's no other locum pharmacists in Birmingham so there must be a shortage? 🤷🏽♂️
Are you offering fair rates?
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 This thread for anyone insisting there’s a shortage. If you haven’t got data to prove there’s a shortage please stop peddling this nonsense. Inability to hire ≠ shortage. #saferpharmacies@ChemistDruggist@NHSEngland@LloydsPharmacy
Delighted for colleagues in @NHSEngland and the NHS awarded very well deserved #NYHonours for services to pharmacy and the NHS in COVID-19: Greg Barton MBE, Patricia Geraghty BEM, Karen O'Brien MBE, Tim Root MBE, Paul Tunstell BEM @NHS_SPS@UKCPA @APTUK1 @LloydsPharmacy@GSTTnhs
As a profession we should be supporting the new gen of pharmacists not abusing them because they’re in a weaker position. This reflects badly on all of us. Dear @TheGPhC you have a responsibility to ensure exam is held ASAP to put an end to the abuse.
@BBCNews@guardian@the_pda
I’m shocked when I hear of the conditions in some community #pharmacies that our @the_pda members #pharmacists are expected to work in, especially during a Covid-19 pandemic.
Employers you have a duty of care to staff & patients to reduce the risks.

One of the many posts we receive on our Pharmacy Lounge Telegram groups.
Multiples esp need to plan their workplace & workforce better for #pharmacists to safely operate running a #pharmacy & deliver #flujab otherwise risking burnout for Pharmacists & puts #PatientSafety at risk
Heard from a number of sources that Lloyds is cancelling, and threatening to cancel, locum shifts, of those who refuse to conduct MURs, BP or cholesterol checks on account of being at higher risk from Coronavirus.
@APTUK1 @MrpharmacistMr@President_APTUK 2/2 It is the RP who secures the safe and effective supply. It is the RP who takes on the liability for this. It is the RP who will be held to account for everything that happens in relation to this function. Unless I have read the regs wrong.
@President_APTUK@NisR786 @APTUK1 So under a PGD, the responsible pharmacist on duty in a community pharmacy setting will assume responsibility and accountability if a Pharmacy technician makes an error whilst vaccinating a patient???

“I’m expanding who can legally vaccinate”
.@MattHancock tells @peston that the first people to receive a vaccine will be those most clinically vulnerable, older people and health care workers and that he’s expanding who can legally vaccinate.

I've had a locum sending me this from the same multiple that apparently their locum coordinator would rather close the branch than negotiate with a locum who was available to work on an emergency shift that day. 😮🤷🏽♂️

My lowest rate achieved with this multiple is £27/hr. Locums generally travel further so car wear & tear, no employee benefits, end of year tax deductions are to be considered. Is £17/hr a viable and justified rate? @LloydsPharmacy@TheGPhC@the_pda@PharmacistCoop
