This week, we have been focusing on writing routines. Today we reviewed identifying letter sounds to map out words we are trying to spell. I got a special surprise when I was the topic in one of my student’s writing. @hfcatholic

We took science class outside today! Grade 3s collected soil samples to get a closer look. Grade 2s explored how quickly the wind can fill a plastic bag. We all used our senses to learn about the environment. @hfcatholic

After a walk around the school to search for the various ways we see texts in our world the 2/3s got creative and used different templates and mediums to create different kinds of texts. It was a joy to see how proud they were to share their work. @hfcatholic

We started our first Science inquiry by brainstorming what we know about science. After introducing our environmental focus the 2/3s got creative and come up with their wonders to explore as a class @hfcatholic

Our class has been exploring how to work together, try new strategies and see how everyone can answer math problems differently. I love the positive collaboration skills we are building @hfcatholic

The grade 2/3 class at @hcbrantford explored some different countries yesterday. They worked in pairs to filled out country maps with pictures to describe their climate, wildlife, recreation and special features. Keep up the great work!

My kindergarten friends at @stleocatholic and @ndbrantford have been exploring our 5 senses. They used a variety of items with different textures and explored the classroom to find more! The K3 class at ND created texture rainbows.

It was a great day at Have A Go with the transition class @ndbrantford all of our athletes did an amazing job being positive teams players and enjoying the sun filled day!

The grade 2/3s @hcbrantford got creative with chalk pastels to create these shadow shamrocks “For each petal on the shamrock this brings a wish your way. Good health, good luck and happiness for today and every day.”
