We had so much fun playing Battleship with our UFLI roll and read ! Students practiced reading words with our endings -tch & -dge while trying to sink each others ships! 🚢⛴️💥

Wow these first graders have been busy! We have built leprechaun traps, built legos & then coded them to show motion, and researched an animal/ created its habitat ! So much work but also had so much fun while doing it ☺️🧠🚀

We read our book “Love Monster” and then answered some questions to help us build our very own! We learned who likes chocolate, who likes flowers over candy, and who likes scary vs. funny movies 🤍🫶🏻 Such a fun craft with a sweet group 🥰

Student learned about the FLSZ rule today in phonics! We then practiced our new skill using our word board! Students absolutely crushed it today 🧠🤍

My word detectives were sent very special magnifying glasses from the reading agency! They used their new tools to sound out hard words and then added them to our reading brag board. Super proud of my word detectives! 🕵🏼🕵🏼‍♂️🧠

Students loved using the bee bots to code during math! If they didn’t get to the right space they would debug and work together to problem solve. 🧠💪🏼

Today we went on a nature talk and discussed all that we were noticing during fall. We then collected leaves and made the best leaf people! 🍁😁

We had an awesome time on our Glow Day! We worked so hard on decoding words, ordering #’s, reading passages, and learning about community helpers. Students loved writing and working in highlighters 🥰 #BestDayEver

After our science SGA, we had some fun by playing CVC memory match & feeding our jack o’ lantern! This helped us practice decoding CVC words and finding pictures to match 🎃🍁🥰

It’s raining place value in our classroom! Today students practiced writing a number in standard and expanded form. They then showed that number using base ten blocks! 🌧️💧🧠🩵

We have been BUSY!! We created pizzas and pizza toppings with tens blocks, showed how the earth moved around the sun, collaborated to create a rainbow chain, and then wrote what we would do if we were scarecrows! #HardAtWork 🧠😄

We LOVED using our outdoor classroom today for writing! Students worked around the classroom and then used the stage to share their awesome sentences & pictures. These writers crushed it today! ✏️

We had a fun filled week! We learned how to practice writing our letters using handwriting without tears on our chromebooks, wrote word chains during our phonics lessons , learning to use our new math menus, and writing outside! 🌞

Math centers are a go! Students are learning how to follow their center rotation and be awesome math collaborators. They are working on skip counting, building numbers, counting to 120, and solving 120 puzzles! 🧠💪🏼

Today we played our Frog Jump Mystery Letter game where students had the chance to come up and be the teacher! They gave directions and the other students had to guess what letter they were writing ✏️
