The real learning loss from the pandemic has been social and emotional skills. Such as making and maintaining friendships, participating in group projects, and regulation of emotions. Students need unstructured play, recess, and group interaction more than ever.
Education should include teaching students to be other focused. Start something new next year.

3. Write a letter to a pen pal (senior/ war vet)
4. Spend time w/sick kids in hospital

Teachers NEED time, so we did our April staff meeting "take-out" style in order to give the gift of time!
Staff picked up their "take-out" boxes and can engage with this month's staff meeting content by scanning the QR codes! They also got a little treat inside their box π

@whitney_larocca Yes. I worked really hard this year, focused on teaching writing instead of being self contained. Loved every minute. My kids grew SO much. STAAR scores donβt show that growth. Not sorry to say I donβt care.
