In Attenborough class we started our assembly by listening to 'A change is gonna come' by Sam Cooke, which links to the story of Rosa Parks. We shared rules we have at school, at home & how we need them to treat people fairly.
After games in the hall, Shakespeare class tucked into some tasty treats! Thank you for your donations of party food ๐๐ We still have some left for tomorrow ๐ง๐
Cleopatra class explored how pneumatics are used in every day objects. Then we drew a thumbnail sketch of our own pneumatic toy designed for a younger child to play with and learn more about force and motion. #designtechnology
Y5/6 @Highgateacademy are learning about floods in the UK. We saw images of barriers in the River Thames @AlanBarrierEA & the Foss barriers in York. We briefly discussed how these operate to protect communities @EnvAgency

Y5/6 Attenborough class explored a flood risk map of the UK & discussed why some areas are more vulnerable to flooding than others. We learned about possible causes of flooding and the impact it has, using local incidents as examples too.

Y4 Nelson Mandela class shared their dreams & what they would like to achieve in their bright futures ๐ @theliteracytree We explored the front cover and began to think about the setting and characters. Why did they have wings? #FArTHER

Year 6 Shakespeare class have been developing their observational drawing skills today, using the grid as a guide to improve their accuracy and detail in their Shakespeare portraits. They were really proud of their results.
@LauraGoodge@AttenboroughSir We had a fab day, the children were really engaged & interested in learning more about their class' influential person. We watched some clips of the floods in Spain & New York too, discussing what impact humans have on climate change.
