Fourth grade is attempting an art-themed digital escape room today. I love seeing their engagement and hearing their excellent problem solving strategies. Will anyone escape before class is over?? 🕵️♀️ 🕵️♂️ @lapelelementary#lapelelementary
Driving to Cincinnati? Just off the interstate in downtown Batesville, IN are two @kelseymontagueart murals (Remember the butterfly wings we made?) and a temporary umbrella installation. Batesville is a just a few minutes off of I-74, and is definitely worth a stop and photo op!
Well, it took a good part of the school year, but I finally finished an art piece 4th grade helped me create pieces for. It will be like a brand new artwork for our return in August. Until then, enjoy your summer break! ☀️ 🕶 🏖 @lapelelementary
6th gr art students finished off the year with self-portraits in media of their choosing. They looked at a variety of ways to make a self-portrait, reflected on the materials and techniques we’ve used this year, and carefully planned their unique portraits. @lapelms
Bob Ross Bingo for the win! These kids finished their mini-project early and this is their last day of art for the year. So quiet...so calm. High fives for the winners! @lapelelementary
During these 3-day rotations, kinders learned about the artist Faith Ringgold who creates painted story quilts. They focused on representing a true story from their own lives w/o using words. I ❤️ seeing the stories unfold w/ all of the details in their drawings. @lapelelementary
I think I’ve lost my mind doing a project with this much mess with just a few days left of school. 6th graders are experimenting with gelli plate printing techniques. Next week, we’ll take our most favorite prints and turn them into an explosion book. Stay tuned! @lapelms
Summer art camps at the Anderson Museum of Art are open for registration for grades Pre-K and up. The camps are in-person and outdoors this summer. Fairy gardens? Yes, please! https://t.co/WDuzmR3fx9
I’ve shared this 5th grade project before, but these parody drawings might be my favorite yet! I love the sense of humor in these and they’re so well crafted! @lapelelementary
6th grade recently finished these one-point perspective cityscape drawings. This is a very technical drawing process, but many students knocked it out of the park! I love how some students added their own personal spin in the details. Well done! @lapelms
As a learning extension to the plants unit in their classroom, @LehmanKinders created garden paintings showing the tops and bottoms of various vegetables. Carrots! Yum! 😋
Though we shortened the specials rotations these last few weeks, 3 days is still enough time for impressive art making. 3rd gr had a crash course in using Google Drawings to create atmospheric perspective cityscapes. 💚 the unique building shapes in this work! @lapelelementary
I’m sharing this 3rd grade sea creature project again because they keep getting better and better! They made sea creatures and sea life with model magic and created an underwater scene. SUCH fantastic work! @lapelelementary
