That’s a wrap! The 2020-2021 District Teachers of the Year served as leaders through change. Their voices provided the practical wisdom of classroom experience and deep pedagogical knowledge that guided instruction and assessment practices across South Carolina!
First-year teachers should be paid to co-teach with a veteran in the building. What if they don’t get their own classrooms until Year 2?
This will cost money, yes. Probably a lot
But I bet we get better teachers in the end. And I bet they stay longer in the profession
Local school districts must be wise in how they use this federal stimulus money. This is a chance to think big to invest in the things that can really move the needle for student achievement- lower class sizes, co-teaching, and extended learning time.
Today reminds me of why communication, collaboration, and creativity are so imperative in the classroom. Thank you @laciehooksWGE for the STEAM class and reminder of why our kids need those Cs! #turkeytime#WeLeadWGE#scteachers
