I’m so grateful for summer break but my heart is heavy thinking of the kiddos who consider school their safe place. My prayer is that these weeks fly by for them and they can feel Jesus holding them close in the meantime 🤍 I can’t wait to hold them again in August!

17 sweet 2nd graders spent classroom points on lunch with their teacher today 💕 It’s so special that they save up for weeks to be able to spend a little extra time with us. Another perk of departmentalized 2nd grade is that we get DOUBLE the kiddos to love 🩵💛 @DreamLakeApopka

My scholars have grown so much in their writing this year! Being a departmentalized ELA teacher in 2nd grade has allowed for much more intentional writing instruction and practice. This was planned and completed independently during centers 🩵💛 @DreamLakeApopka @ClentonMartin

My 2nd grade readers are in Habitat Heaven! This thematic unit has been a blast so far! We are wrapping up our study of informational text and will start reading stories with these habitats as the setting next week 🐠🦋🐧🦒 @DreamLakeApopka @ClentonMartin
