I am an educator on a mission! I have an interest in deprivation, social injustice, equality and equity in education. A bookworm with a passion for teaching.
@BandQ bexhill - a while ago went into store, appalling customer service, complained, manager apologised, invited in to meet manager and get voucher. Gone back in, more rude staff and no voucher!
A period drama. After posting on Insta about a nightmare period leak situation I had, I was inundated with messages from others who'd been through the same. So today I went on @thismorning to talk about it. Thanks to everyone who messaged me with their stories.
Don’t leave this, demand Justin Welby resigns as The Arch Bishop of Canterbury .
Sexual abuse of kids will not be tolerated in the Church or anywhere.
He knew for 40 years about this guy.
Send it, he has to go.
#WelbyResign
Archbishop @JustinWelby has apologised for covering up for paedophile John Smyth QC who abused 130 boys. He could have been convicted 10 years ago.
You really need to resign.

"And we will scrap tuition fees and bring back maintenance grants. Free education for all throughout your life. That is the prospect that [the Tories] would have us believe is so terrifying"
Turns out not just the Tories!
No dressing up this year so here's a throwback to when I showed up at school as a health and safety warning about swinging on your chairs in class 🤣 I remember my HT being less than impressed 😬 #Halloween
Inheritance tax has got to be the most retarded of all taxes. You have to pay the government money for the privilege of inheriting something that's already yours, and has already been taxed before it even got to you. Why?
The Independent Review of the Curriculum by Rose, has much to contemplate now. Despite being published in 2009, reading it now feels like a fresh and modern approach to learning in so many ways, preparing children to be healthy and engaged citizens: https://t.co/9WtjBCw4Nv
A teacher has been assaulted by a teenager.
So often, it's immediately followed by:
"The needs haven't been met"
"The resources aren't in place"
"Not enough support"
"Silly rules"
"What did the teacher do/not do?"
Not:
"Is the teacher ok?"
"What impact has this had on the teacher?"
"What impact has this had on other students?"
"There can be no excuse for violence"
"If we justify, excuse or normalise this, what happens when this child is 18 and goes out into the world? What lessons are we teaching them?"
"Is it right we are investing the vast majority of our time and effort away from the victim(s)?"
"How can we ensure that the concepts of individual responsibility and accountability are effectively taught?"
The Observer article out a few days back is thee perfect illustration of the above in action.
