Inspiring day today empowering students to make changes in their schools. Students throughout the state spent the day in Concord working on a plan as the first cohort with NHLI’s student agency project funded through a grant from the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation.

Just putting this out there: tons of amazing people don’t have biological kids of their own. Sometimes by choice. Sometimes outside of their control. Some of them are amazing step-parents. Some are amazing foster parents or adoptive parents. But some are also folks devoted to their profession.
And . . . that’s nobody’s business (especially a politician’s).
But in my experience, many of the so-called “childless” are often some of the mentors, counselors, and creators who impact young lives in amazing ways.
One of my all-time favorite teachers never had a child of her own but was a guide and mentor to thousands. We still see the ripple effects of her impact decades later.
This whole nonsense of “you have to be a biological parent to have an impact” is dangerous and misguided. This isn’t political. It’s about basic human kindness.
Please recognize that there are multiple avenues for doing good in this world.
A slightly different take on my usual rant about why zeros are dumb.
"Because of that one zero, it will take that student 14 more 85s just to get their grade back to an 80."
Zeros and the 100-point scale just don't make any sense.

Our hearts are broken with the loss of Tim Wakefield.
Wake embodied true goodness; a devoted husband, father, and teammate, beloved broadcaster, and the ultimate community leader. He gave so much to the game and all of Red Sox Nation.
Our deepest love and thoughts are with Stacy, Trevor, Brianna, and the Wakefield family.
