Yesterday we had a discussion about where we can find information and the reliability of different sources. To experiment, we choose two different sources to research the Great Barrier Reef and noted information which was the same or different. There were some inconsistencies!
Unfortunately there wasnβt enough money in the school budget to allow us to travel to Australia. As a compromise we will be having an Australian Party on Friday afternoon. Children are free to bring in summer clothes to change into for the afternoon.
We wrote some persuasive letters today to Mrs Collins to try and persuade her to let us go to Australia for our P4 trip. We were obviously very invested because our writing was brilliant! Some excellent arguments p4.
What a fantastic morning we had thanks to our judo taster session. It was so much fun! We learned lots of moves and tried them out on our friends. Every single person left with a smile on their face. Leaflets are home in bags for more information about the judo club. π₯

After presenting to the class on our researched animalβs adaptions, we created our own creature to survive in one of the worlds climate zones. We looked at what an animal would need to survive in that zone and designed our creatures accordingly.
Last week we looked at animal adaptation and what this means. We researched some animals from Scotland and Australia to discover how animals adapt in different climates. We presented our findings to the class this morning.
We had a really fun visit from the @ScottishSPCA yesterday. We watched a video about the sspca and all the fantastic work they do, answered questions to build a robot π€ and then coded our robot bunny to make it move!
We are continuing to work on right angles by categorising angles which are right angles, bigger than right angles and smaller than right angles. We learned an angle smaller than a right angle is called an acute angle and an angle bigger that a right angle is called obtuse.
We have started our new health and well-being topic. Today we had a discussion about lots of different emotion words. We then picked one from the board and drew 5 things which made us feel that way.
This afternoon we discussed animal adaption, what it means and why animals need to adapt to their surroundings. We researched 7 different animals from both Scotland and Australia and highlighted notes on how/why they adapt. We used our notes to help create posters.
We also completed a book quiz where we listened to a blurb and had to name the story. Well done to these fantastic two who knew the title of every single story! #WorldBookDay
We started off our world book day with a scavenger hunt, having to find specific words/ pictures in our books. A huge well done to our two winners who finished within seconds of each other.
Remember tomorrow is our World Book Day. Children are welcome to come to school dressed as their favourite book character and bring in their favourite story from home to share with their classmates. π
