Someone shared this visual representation of the need for #UDL in the classroom and I thought it was perfect. Equality and Equity are very different concepts, yet they are too often seen as the same.
@cperchase This article was great! Students need teachers who they can connect with and they need to feel safe in expressing who they are. Alos, we as teachers need to look beyond our comfort level to allow us to view alternate perspectives and experiences.
Almost completed day 2 of training with @BoomerangPrjct, alongside @MSMSMurphy. We are really seeing the value of student leadership and team building activities that create a culture of respect in a school. https://t.co/4tZdVSWmZU
Wow! This really resonated with me this year and made me think of one student in particular that I have been trying to be firm yet kind with. “We have to keep holding them gently but firmly accountable for their behavior.” https://t.co/5zQPhqK45Z
https://t.co/IexGXOSt6j “Something powerful happens when students see their teachers together. You become larger than the sum of your parts, stronger not only in number, but because this simple show of cooperation tells them you are united...” #teachergoals#MSMSpride
“Students have untapped expertise and knowledge that can bring renewed relevance and authenticity to classrooms and school reform efforts.” This is so important in today’s classroom. https://t.co/EjXL66ZdZc
