Winter is SNOW much fun!!! Whether Room 209 is painting snow, lighting it up, or eating it ... they are loving every minute of it!!! Happy Winter Break, everyone!
All of us at Rippleton are super proud of our young author who was recently published in this year's
"One Story a Day by Kids for Kids"
@DCCED
Congratulations Double A! 😄
Thanks for including us on your trip to see The Wild Robot today, Ms. Fenwick! We laughed, we cried, and we saw all sorts of conflict happening in the story ... just like the book! And thank you to our parent volunteers for helping keep us safe and on time! :)
Congratulations to our amazing Rippleton Bordenball team on an amazing tournament today. Our student-athletes played with determination and had a blast doing so. Well done team!
Join us on Thursday, October 10th for our Curriculum Night.
Come meet your child's teacher and find out more about all the exciting learning and fun that is happening this year at Rippleton.
We had a reflective day reading books, having discussions, and listening to people like Ms. Webstad explain their experiences in a residential school. We also started talking about Truth & Reconciliation, and began exploring the importance of the Dish with One Spoon wampum, too!
We started by making a mark. We used paint, marker, pastels, water, paper, and plasticine to see where our initial mark would take us. No mistakes were made, but chances to figure out what kind of dot felt good to each individual artist met us along the way! @peterhreynolds
Room 209 is made up of a wonderful cast of interesting and colourful characters. We are interested in so many different things, and showcase so many different talents ... we can be ourselves everyday and STILL show the world all of our different sides!
Feelings. We all have them: big, medium, and small. After reading a book about how different people experience the world and a conversation about our own feelings, Rm 209 planned out skits to explore the different outcomes that might happen when we react or respond to situations.
Working together to save Bob Jr - within parameters set out ahead of time - proved to be a success today. All of our gummy friends were able to find safety in their lifesaver preserver, WOO HOO!!!
The grade 4s and 5s know that collaboration is important ... especially when they are building towers with one another in class and passing balls in gym! Working together with open ears and kind words can make any challenge easier to meet.
Getting ready for the first day of school is always a bag of mixed emotions; happy to be back ... excited to meet new faces and reunite with old friends ... and a bit anxious about the unknowns. We can't wait to see you on Tuesday, September 3rd, Roadsters!
We had a blast today becoming the tellers of our own stories! Matt from @filmcampinabox shared some of his master filmmaker tips, helping us produce some great short - and very silent - films!
Day 1 of Swimming to Survive! What a beautiful facility, @cityoftoronto and Toronto's Indigenous Affairs Office! @Rippleton_TDSB can't wait to get back to the Ethennonnhawahstihnen' Community Recreation Centre and jump back into this beautiful community pool.
The 4s and 5s from both room 209 and 211 did a wonderful job against their parents, siblings, and teachers this morning! I'm amazed they only beat us by 1/2 a point ... ;) (Way to go Division 2 Champions!!!)
How did you start your Friday morning? Chances are that it wasn't playing volleyball, like our brave and skilled parent-athletes! 🤗
Thank you to Mrs. Dafos, Mr. Williams and our amazing All-Gender volleyball team for a fun game this morning.
