I’m an elem. teacher who thrives on reading, technology, art, and creativity! When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me Irish dancing, crafting, or playing games.
@haleshannon Thank you so much for sharing your stories with us! My daughter had a wonderful time and I was so excited to meet someone whose work I’ve admired so much in both my personal and teacher lives. ❤️❤️❤️
@angiecthomas My 5th graders finished reading Amari and The Night Brothers as our class read aloud and 30/30 voted to continue on to Amari and the Great Game which we finished last week. They’re obsessed! Now we’re reading Momo Arashima Steals the Sword of the Wind.
@laurenTarshis My 5th grade class would love to be chosen for this opportunity! We’re starting Historical Fiction book clubs and a lot of them are excited for the “I Survived” sets!
My students are devouring the Front Desk series and I can’t wait to use this shared experience as we dive into our narrative writing unit to help the students recognize how powerful their voices are and that the stories from their lives are valuable!
It was such a huge honor to get to host @kellyyanghk at our school this week! My class was incredibly inspired by her story and a couple of my students who were already big fans were practically vibrating with joy (and let’s be real— I was too! :))
International Dot Day is always one of my favorite days and I love having a reason to celebrate creativity. Our students worked on a challenging geometric string art project with their younger buddies, finalizing it with neon dot splatters. More pics to come as they finish!

@bbalston Today was the last day for my 5th graders and SO many said that me reading aloud Amari was their fav. part of being in my class. I’ve ordered many copies of the next book for all them who said they would visit just to borrow it from me. Thanks for this shared joy!! ❤️
Many of these are beloved books in my classroom and some new books I’ll have to add on my TBR list. Keeping my finger 🤞 that I could join in on this opportunity!

@colbysharp We just finished Amari and the Night Brothers and my class LOVED it! They would beg me to read not just during read aloud, but during art times as well. The only downside was them realizing how long they have to wait for the sequel. 😭
