We were delighted to welcome students from @LJMU to the maths department on Friday. As well as hearing about how we do maths at Ridgeway, they observed lessons and worked with year 7 students on a topic identified from an end-of-unit assessment.
We received a monitoring visit from an HMI (Ofsted inspector) on 4 May to review the progress we have made since our 2021 inspection. The inspector's feedback letter arrived today. Click the link to read the full letter. https://t.co/FE20tGWkPp
Congratulations to our first place winner from @HighSouthend for the maths challenge.
Presented by Barry Grantham at @LivUni
We had 1347 entries from 112 schools across Merseyside, Lancashire, North Wales and the Isle of Man. Thank you to all who participated.
I'd never considered this before, but it's a brilliant way to think about angles and parallel lines.
If the second set of angles comes from a translation of one of the lines, you automatically get a pair of parallel lines, and the angles must be identical.
Congratulations to our first place winner from @LiverpoolBCS for the senior maths challenge.
Presented by Barry Grantham and @MrsEvansMaths16

A group of year 10 girls were at the University of Liverpool on Tuesday at an event called Girls in Maths – about encouraging girls to consider studying maths right through to university level. It was also a great chance to learn more about the benefits of higher education.
