A natural science inquiry today! Some friends wanted to bring in ice from outside. Our poster says, "Dirty ice vs. Clean ice. Indoor ice vs. Outdoor ice." Needless to say, we may want to stop sampling the snow outside 🤭 @ross_dsbn @dsbn #kindergarten

When learning is so organic that it comes from a necessary task (sorting our magnet letters), that's where the magic happens!✨️ I love how engaged my 3-4 friends were sorting letters, naming them, and noticing how some were shaped similarly! @ross_dsbn @dsbn #kindergarten

Today in K3, we rung in the New Year at 12:00 noon with "Happy New Year" crowns, glowsticks, a countdown, and fireworks from around the world! What a great way to start our time of learning after break! @ross_dsbn @dsbn

The beauty of inquiry at play in our @ross_dsbn kinder class😍 One student chose to make a letter using straws & connectors. Suddenly, most of the class was involved in seeing how many letters we could make! Our alphabet cards came in handy, and numbers joined in too! @dsbn

What happens when our emotions get too big? They 💥EXPLODE!💥 Today we used the illustration of letting our big feelings bubble up (vinegar and baking soda) and explode! We have begun talking about how to PREVENT the blow up with different strategies! @ross_dsbn @dsbn #K3

Last days for 2 of us today😥 It was such a beautiful day celebrating our learning and time together. Although I will miss finishing the year off with these amazing kiddos, I know they will rock the last 2 months of grade 1! I'll keep you posted on baby Faber 2.0! @ross_dsbn

We had some springtime fun in our room today! Students went on a word hunt around the room. I had a little too much fun with the hiding spots this time🤭 In exchange for their 12 Spring words, they got chocolate eggs. They thought it was a sweet deal! @ross_dsbn @dsbn

The Big Bad Wolf, @RyanWKMitchell, came to be our judge of our strong houses! He huffed, and he puffed, and didn't blow any of our houses down! Ss chose which material they saw as the most effective, and that determined their groups! Great effort by all😍 #STEM @ross_dsbn @dsbn

What an awesome day @brockconed Education Conference! It was an honour to be asked to speak. It will be 10 years this spring since graduating from Brock and 15 years since helping coordinate the first ever conference. Such a full circle moment 🥰 Thanks for a great day!

Today's Math got us moving today! We made human bar graphs. Do you prefer vanilla or chocolate ice cream? Do you like summer or winter? It was a simple way for us to compare which side had more or less, and organize our thinking on this Fun Friday! @ross_dsbn @dsbn
