Grammar lesson with my Year 6 pupils today… You wouldn’t put your burger sauce outside of your bun, right?! You’d put it on the burger- So why would you put your punctuation outside of the inverted commas?! Lightbulb moments💡 Who doesn’t love a good food analogy!#traineeteacher

In Year 6 we’ve been looking at the civil rights movement in History and making our own Black Lives Matter protest placards in Art, focusing on graffiti style fonts. Such an important and incrediby relevant topic to educate the next generation of world changers on ✊🏻✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿
My #WeeklyWin is getting to spend time with an EAL student and see his confidence in writing shine through. I was blown away, and completely humbled, to see something other than a couple of words after a conversation discussing our ideas. Ending half term with a happy heart🥰
It's important to note that the impending #TeacherStrike is NOT just about teacher pay!
It's also about:
1. Underfunded schools
2. Squeeze on the school day/hours
3. Teacher workload; one of the highest in the world!
= The means, ALL pupils get less quality teaching!
My #WeeklyWin ❤️ One of my personal goals as a future teacher is to always make learning fun, so this made me smile today🥰. Not long to go until Christmas break- if you’re a teacher and you’re reading this… you’re doing amazing!! #edutwitter@AMPSCITT
Great training session today at @Redgate_Primary with @Y4Redgate on science practicals! Learnt a lot of useful ways to make lessons exciting 👩🔬🧫 @MissJepson
Year 4 loved coming up with their own animals during science this week. We are learning to understand that animals adapt to suit their environment in our 'Living things and their habitats' unit - here are some examples! Thanks @DevelopExperts 😊
Some great work produced in RE- looking at a range of different religions and how they celebrate some of their key festivals. Loved hearing the children ask so many questions and seeing them learn new things about how different people celebrate special times around the world! 🤩
#QuoteOfTheDayFromYear4 "I want to be an adult but I just realised I have to do my own washing... forgot about that" I had to hide my smile at the sheer devastation on their face🤭
Really trying to drill in “A worded question requires a worded answer” during our maths lessons… I may have to be a bit more specific next time (or glance over colloquialism in English) 🤪😂 #TraineeTeacher#LaughOfTheDay#SoBasically
Started off the ‘Iron and Bronze Age’ section of our topic with VocAPPulary!
Each word needs a definition and an ‘app’ cover displaying what the meaning is. Useful to look back on throughout the term! 📱✨
@MissCrozierSci@AMPSCITT Love this idea!! My weekly win is having a child say to me “Miss you’re really doing an amazing job” when sitting down to help them with their English writing 🥹❤️ #weeklywins
