There are teachers who are strong, highly motivated, and who like to take ideas and run with them and speak up when things aren’t working. Effective leaders embrace these teachers because they make the whole team better!
Education is not teacher centered or even student centered, but it is relationship centered. Teachers thrive with positive admin relationships & students thrive with positive teacher relationships. Relationships are the foundation of education.
This time of year, some teachers, staff & admin may feel overwhelmed or need help. Most will not reach out because they think it makes them look weak or incompetent. Take a moment to check in with each other and lean on each other if they need it. Teams build each other up!

As Teacher Appreciation week nears, understand we have a teacher shortage because we have an attrition crisis. Teachers are leaving in droves because they don’t feel supported, valued, & they are simply burnt out. We need to take care of our teachers more than one week a year.
5 tips to reduce stress of staff.
1) if asking to meet with staff member, let them know why.
2) Don't address an issue you have with one person with the whole staff.
3) praise a lot more than you critique
4) fewer meetings
5) continual encouragement, support, and praise.
