What a great article! Thank you for sharing, @watsonm_m !! I have so much so say. However, my main takeaway is that: equity matters. Reading matters. We need to give ALL students access to proper opportunities for language and reading development. This is crucial.

@Matthewmb77 @RiderCEHS That’s fantastic! I recommend jumping in and trying everything during your internship. It was so valuable to have a variety of experiences. As for your Praxis, I purchased the online study guide from ETS and I took the test over and over while reading each answer explanation.

Today my husband defended his thesis & obtained his Ph.D! He immigrated from Poland, taught himself English by studying the dictionary in 3rd grade and he’s the 1st person in his family to get a college education. Anything is possible w/ hard work, resilience & determination!🎓👏🏻
