The model we used at St Curhbert’s - we just called it Teach, Practice and Apply (TPA)…_ A strong focus on the direct teaching input. It built resilience, learner independence and supported differentiation. @MrsG_DHT here it is in the St C curriculum and pedagogy rationale.
Cognitive overload is a major challenge for learners. 😫 Tackle it using the concept of the Expertise Reversal Effect and a 3-stage approach to gradually remove the scaffolding of support.
