Today, after my students finished a quiz I showed them a photo of me holding Rosie, the tarantula! It came up in conversation somehow. They asked me questions and were so engaged in it. It was back in college so I look different as the students pointed out. #KidsDeserveIt

Mini win today! A student said I thought it was gonna be a bad day, but it’s turned out to be good one. He’s struggled with behavior and has been working on doing better. Love the progress!

What if we assessed our students with meaningful and diverse texts instead of black and white passages? They are engaged with mentor picture books in the classroom. Why do we assess in such a bland way? #ThoughtForTheDay

Today, two students got a perfect score on their vocab quiz! These students have struggled as readers, but studied every night to improve. Their faces lit up like they won that lottery! Hahah #Awesome #ThirdGrade
