The absolute skills of @LauraAikman playing the truly dreadful Sonia in the wonderful #GavinAndStacey. She has to be entirely plausible and we must despise her at the same time. In a heartwarming comedy. An acting job full of pitfalls. Aikman nails it, doesn't put a foot wrong.

Christmas is one of the worst periods of the year for domestic violence and murder.

Not the most festive idea but I thought I'd sit down to list names of women and girls killed over Christmas in Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales.

So they are not forgotten this Christmas. /1

An immediate thing I did as a headteacher, was remove all displays from corridors & classrooms.

They were largely tatty & the oldest was 6 years old.

Staff breathed a sigh of relief.

Children said it looked ‘nice & clean”.

Talent refocused.

Learning prioritised.
