@SarahRoseCrook @mtptproject My August born son struggled in preschool and reception but has thrived this year in Year 1 and caught up with his peers for reading and maths.
Such a pleasure to join @hayleyguest5 and all the staff from across @ManorMATrust to give the closing keynote at their conference and share @childrensociety passion to build a society for all children! I was overwhelmed by their enthusiasm and their kind cheque for ยฃ2000!
This year there will be a General Election. This is our chance to make the UK the best place in the world to grow up and put #ChildrenAtTheTable. Ask the next Prime Minister to be a champion for children โ sign the petition now. https://t.co/JlldvssJ08
The children finished their day exploring different parts of Henry VIIIโs apartments, including his council chamber where he would meet daily to discuss business matters.
As part of the trip, the children took part in a workshop about Henry VIIIโs court and the hierarchy of it. Different children took on the roles of commoners, the gentry, nobility as well as King Henry himself, and they all learnt how to bow to Henry VIII and other nobility.
They explored Henry VIIIโs kitchens where his staff would cook meals for members of the court and visitors. They learnt that some of the spices used had to be imported as well as learning about the types of food they would have cooked, and how they would be stored and cooked.
