Listening to @dene_gainey on #HIVESUMMIT. There is power in YOU and authentically being you. The true POWER of diversity is when you can confidently bring you and share the space with others that are confidently them. Loving #hivesummit already on day 1!!!!
Front-loading our time to uncover the why behind behaviors and having students make things right builds empathy and teaches skills to do better next time.

Tuesday reflection: influence. Lead today remembering that someone else needs you. Be mindful that the slightest action can have magnificent outcomes. #buffalo4u#Leaders#TuesdayMorning
Response for “I don’t care:”
“I hear ya. I didn’t care about a lot of things I was forced to learn in school either. Today, just for fun let’s pretend you cared. If you did, what would you say then?”
Repeat multiple times if need be.

A2: One of my morning routines is to decide that I'm going to enjoy the day. Even if I have a bazillion meetings, even if I'm tired, even if changes are happening that I wouldn't choose...I get to decide if I'm going to dread or enjoy the day. I choose JOY. #tlap#SerendipityEDU
I often wonder if teacher burnout stems from competition. But why do we complete when we could simply share with each other? We are better together. Open you door to others.
Tips for defusing mouthy #kids.
1. Walking away = strength.
2. Don’t take it personally.
3. Feel “sad for” instead of “mad at.”
4. 2nd to last word is best.
5. Hear “what” instead of “how”.
What would you add?
