Smiling in the sun at the end of day one of curriculum development! Represented @NISDStraus with @MsWauters and @BriGarcia93-- working hard and collaborating with district colleagues for the love of @nisdmsela!
This week, our team dug into components of instruction as leaders of learning who reflect, learn, share, question, and affirm, all for continuous improvement. We regularly refine our practice to best serve our amazing students @NISDStraus. @nisdmsela
So many people have recommended Restart over the years; I'm glad to have finally read it!
@NISDStraus@nisdmsela I wonder if I have enough summer left to add books for the last 11 spaces to my #StrausSummerStacks23...
When life leaves little room for sustained reading, I love the bursts of brilliance I can find in a novel in verse. Added the sad but beautiful Red, White, and Whole to my #StrausSummerStacks23@NISDStraus@nisdmsela

#StrausSummerStacks23 aren't just for fiction. And the more I learn, the more I want to know! The space was for a book eith a number in its title; the title: 42 Is Not Just a Number 😁 @NISDStraus@nisdmsela
Though The False Prince falls outside of my usual preferences, and I had an aspect "figured out" a third of the way in, it's one of those books I stayed up long past my bedtime to finish. A true page-turner! 1st of 4 means 3 more! #StrausSummerStacks23@NISDStraus@nisdmsela
The Door of No Return by @kwamealexander is absolutely incredible. Beautiful and heart-rending. Wonderfully crafted and weighty. I'm going to have to sit with this a while, but I'm certainly looking forward to the next two. #StrausSummerStacks23@NISDStraus@nisdmsela
It's not enough to say l absolutely loved Iveliz Explains It All and read it in one sitting because it was just 👏🏾that👏🏾good 👏🏾!!! #StrausSummerStacks23@nisdmsela@NISDStraus
@Marta1Robles@kwraseNISD Lol. I was referring to Thirst. I'm thinking A Long Walk to Water, The Water Princess, tons of nonfiction... and action. It's MG, so I thought primarily of our colleagues in 6th grade.
