Hooray for teamwork, communication, and following a procedure 👏 The Grade 1s built and coded their own snowmobile to help Leo see the polar bears ❄️ We 🩵 Lego Robotics! @hcdsbsteam
It’s not a treasure hunt, it’s a ✨measure hunt✨! Our Grade 1s searched for polar animals and Christmas items around the room, then counted how many blocks or units tall they are🎄📏
Today was a snowman-themed Monday! We shared predictions on what will happen in the book, “Snowmen At Night”, made a procedure for how to build a snowman, and unlocked a secret snowman message ☃️
Today’s Kindness Assembly taught us the importance of being kind in all that we do and say🤍 A big thank you to @TUniackeCYC, the student council, the choir, Mrs. Forbes and Mrs. Capretta’s Kinders, and @MrsJRak’s Grade 1s for leading our school this #BullyingAwarenessWeek✨
We love our Sticker Story literacy centre! After modelling a story then co-creating a class sticker story, our Grade 1 students got creative with their own writing 📝

The ✨Art Gallery of Burlington✨ guided our Grade 1s through their exhibits today and then led us in creating some beautiful clay snowpeople sculptures 🖌️
