@ShamjiAdil@fordnation@PaulCalandra One of the many reasons why many people with the resources to do so are leaving the country. If Ford would like to maintain a workforce and keep money in this province, his government needs to seriously think about their approach.
@alfiekohn I have always hated tests. As a student, I always forgot half the stuff I spent ages preparing the moment I entered the room and remembered the moment I left. As a teacher, I have difficulty seeing much for useful application.
The perils of misdiagnosis: Criticize standardized tests just b/c they don't provide enough data, or b/c results aren't shared quickly, and the Rx will be even more testing: https://t.co/N9KoSH8txC.
Alas, the problem is actually with testing itself, so you've made things worse.
I ordered myself an easter present on Thursday. It showed up yesterday afternoon. It is one of the best things I've read in quite a while. The premise is using UDL to address social justice issues. One chapter into reading it, I'm hooked. Study group, anyone?
@pernilleripp Buy a practice pad. It is a rubber mat that allows the sticks to bounce off like it would a drum head. Then you can get yourself a method book or look at some instructional YouTube videos to take you through the rudiments.
@AndreaHorwath Good leaders step up and lead by example. They go to front lines to understand what is happening and facilitate problem solving with the help of experts. Whips, chains, and threats are not effective leadership tools.
@fordnation Then let me do my job. I am a very good student success teacher, but your cuts have removed those sections from my school. I can't offer extra support to those who are most vulnerable. I just put out fires now. Visit schools. See how they work, and stop vilifying us.
Today's reminder is, There is NO such thing as cheating in continuous learning! The goal during this time of crisis is engagement, not accountability. That goes for students, families and our teachers working overtime. Give the people the SUPPORTS!

@Sflecce@RossRomanoSSM 2 things, semestered courses were just getting going. Students still need to engage. Also, is there any thought about incomplete community hours?
