This week 6th graders at GIS worked on comparing and contrasting using SPOs in both science and civics!! We LOVE incorporating writing in more than just ELA! #1GC

6th grade ELA students did some deeper level questioning this week. Each student completed their own chart, we then compiled some of our strongest questions into a class chart to reference throughout the unit!! #1GC

Students participated in Symbiotic “speed dating” today. Each student was assigned an organism and they had to “speed date” other organisms to find which of them had a symbiotic relationship!! #1GC

This week we are working on theme and using Aesop’s Fables as examples. Today students put their acting skills to the test as they acted out readers theater versions of the popular fables! This group each created “costumes” and props! #1GC

Fun things began today for 6th graders at GIS! They created aquatic and terrestrial habitats that they will be observing over the next few weeks! #1GC

Today 6th grade science students constructed food webs to show the transfer of energy through feeding relationships! #1GC

GIS 6th graders are learning about adaptation and they did their best to replicate how animals adapt to their surroundings to survive by camouflaging butterflies around the classroom! They then had some special guests come in to act as the birds and find them!
