@hkateaching I’d say 5/6. They acknowledge how the extract progresses, have some appropriate terminology and investigate the meanings produced from the structure. Development would have got them higher marks.
@clouddd231@Team_English1 I taught resits last year. We did lots of ‘writing for life’ stuff and developed literacy skills for the workplace, as well as trying to maintain their interest with different genres of reading. Egs writing CVS, email etiquette, presentations/speeches, debates etc
Those of you who have lost and have mixed emotions about #FathersDay2023
I get you....
I've got you....
Talk about him.
Remember him.
Shed tears.
Breathe it in deeply.
Smile.
Live.
You are here.
You make him proud.
It's ok to feel all the feels.

@HollyBella33493 Thank you! Ooohhh I’ve done two years worth of lessons on women’s bodies for Handmaids. Not the best Paris texts in my opinion. Fave Duffy poems 💕
Anyone know what the paper 1 was like for AQA English language and literature A level??? Wanting to know the Qs for a Paris, Handmaids and Duffy. An anxious teacher on maternity leave!!! 😬#teachertwitter#aqaenglish#alevel#langlit#exams
@jonnyenglishDC@Team_English1 We do PETERC tend to treat it as a checklist rather than students feeling tied to this order. Reader response = what we think/feel/learn/understand. Often they get stuck on emotions so what we learn sometimes frees them. Context = historical, social, political and big themes 😊
And I did it again! I may be on maternity leave but I am still eager to know what comes up in the AQA Eng papers. Good call from me to do work on Jonathan Small and criminals for TSOF before Easter! Great extract for R and J too. So what do we think for Lit P2???
@MissJoyceNE@Team_English1 2/ thought processes throughout. These are the core or revision. Methodology, strategy, tactics. I tend to do mix of past opera and own prompts such as movie stills and controversial tweets/articles. They get bored otherwise 😊
@MissJoyceNE@Team_English1 Focus on Q4 and Q5 (seems obvious as they’re the most marks). Q4 allows them to have a personal response and is ‘looser’ in terms of what is defined by methods as opposed to Q2/3. Build their stamina with creative/transactional writing prompts and get them to note their ..1/
@MissC_Drama @TraineeTwinkl@MrTs_NQTs Not easy AT ALL! But I have to say I loved doing my PGCE. It was a chance to get it wrong and experiment in the classroom. I also loved doing the assignments (weird I know) for the research and when you finish the sense of achievement is profound!
