This crisis needs more attention and more inventive solutions. If the pandemic taught us nothing else, we know now that things can and should change in support of people being able to work and live meaningfully. #SUSW

No context needed. The people who are for you are for you. This is my person and he is my person regardless, in spite of, and despite ....and sometimes we do hella cute pictures. https://t.co/gBd1bPlsw3
This is how virtual school occurs. Working parents, even those who have decreased our workload/changed job titles, are not ok. The daily migraines/the tears/ exhaustion. And no, America, the solution is not reopening the schools/encourgaing inevitable super-spread. Change is needed!
@HealWithKasey Not yet. I have been operating my house like a hem onc isolation unit for almost 2 years (undressing outdoors, 3x daily cleaning of surfaces/ knob/switches, weekly carpet shampoos, shoes steamed and soles bleached upon entry). It has taken a toll on the collective MH.
@lakeya_cherry SWSchools need to have these conversations instead of simply stating engage in self care. That is not relateble/understood. When I burned out, I had never been introduced to the term self compassion and knew self care as a luxury not a product of an appropriate wellness program.
@lakeya_cherry Honestly, it was after I experienced professional burnout the required professional help. I promised to be the change I needed. Year 5 of my career,I decided to engage in TIC for me and worked on boundaries, compassion fatigue and adjusting the narrative on productivity.
@lakeya_cherry I actively practice mindful meditations & affirmations prior to engaging in work as a part of my workday. I vocalize my boundaries intentionally & deliberately start the conversation when things aren't ok. I leave when the job no longer serves me. I have honest exit interviews
@lakeya_cherry They "try ". They are open to the learning & active confrontations to problematic things. The difficulty is the vicarious trauma from COViD 19 and the reactions to that. I will say they have had in depth, intentional conversations about cultural competency and I appreciate it
Something I am actively in engaging in as I voluntarily terminate my employment in order to protect my mental and physical health. It feels demoralizing and my trauma is screaming that I failed but new responsibilities/new horizons desire change/courage/resilience.
