Learning should never stop - even for teachers! Grateful for the opportunity to continue to practice my skills and learn more through an online ASL course! #nightclasses#gallaudet#kwbpride@BarrettAPS
Here is a good example of @KWBCunningham’s class using their u-shaped whiteboard table to finish their “A Book that Warns My Heart...” worksheets. @BarrettAPS teachers are is still time to turn in these worksheets to me this week. Please encourage your students tu work on them.
Having choices matters. Even if upset/frustrated, students should always be given a choice of what to do. Visuals help remind students of which calming strategies are choices in different locations/certain times (ex.playground card has choices: walk, sit on bench, etc.) #kwbpride
We talked about good citizenship and ways to be a positive member of our classroom community! We then practiced turn-taking, sharing, and working together ! #kwbpride
One of the activities we did with our words of the week ! Whether it’s sounding out the words to spell them or matching letter to letter, ALL students have a way to participate! #kwbpride
Proud teacher moment: last week my student pulled me over to his visual schedule then pointed to his peer’s text only schedule and said “I want that. I want words”. #selfadvocacy So the next few days we paired text only with pictures+text, and this week is text only!😊 #kwbpride
