1st art club meeting today! Any1 interested in art club had to write a response telling why they wanted to be a member & complete 3 drawing assignments! We kicked things off by making full sized sketchbooks and bonding! The note on my board says it was a success! 💚💛

Ss were commissioned to create our yearbook cover & I am so impressed with the way a student broke down commission to help the class understand ‘its when someone gives you a mission to complete’. Ss viewed some art commissioned by some firmiliar faces as well!

1st grade planning out their artwork! They are choosing a word they connect with & creating an artwork based on Robert Indiana’s sculptures. This artwork will be a place for them to explore a variety of materials! Hopefully they will discover their favorite medium!

Two weeks ago students created sketchbooks to use through the year and the sketchbooks have been so useful already! Thanks @MsAsArtRoom for the sketchbook PD! ☺️

@MrsAshton2 Ss are planning for the collaboration with yearbook club! I wonder which cover will be on our 19-20 year book!?

Kg is starting one of my favorite units, mouse paint! Lesson 1 is all about identifying those primary colors! We prepped our first 🔺 pieces to our color wheels as well!

Last week @ DES, Special area celebrated creativity and courage found in “The Dot”. In art Ss also made connections with 5 very different artists who use dot in their work.
