Thrilled (and mildly terrified) to let you all know that I’m currently WRITING AN ACTUAL BOOK on ‘leading after a setback’ for the wonderful @CrownHousePub.
Today was the first of my interviews with courageous leaders sharing their inspiring stories of hardships and resilience
late to IWD tweet, but reflecting on how wonderful it is to work on a very female SLT with strong male allies. In the past, I’ve been called ‘SLT Barbie’ due to wearing colourful dresses, and asked ‘who did you sleep with for that role? with an air of genuine curiosity #IWD2024
Ten years ago this week, I published this post called "Why Putting Your Family First Matters." It had 19,999 views in the first six hours. I still have people come up to me and say how much it helped them change their lives for the better. https://t.co/qJIDlqnUCm
I’ve got to the bit in #GilmoreGirls where Rory gets arrested for grand theft boating and Lorelai repeatedly says out loud that she wasn’t prepared for this, that Rory was ‘an Angel’ as a child, and Lorelai, I love you, but you missed a LOT of red flags mamma…
"Does anyone have a curriculum policy they can share?"

Reminder that a BBQ is not a simple, couple of hour job - it’s a full half day commitment, the biggest proportion being telling everyone you’re going to have a BBQ
When you’re accused of overreacting to perceived criticism, but then think actually, if I weren’t solely responsible for the entirety of everyone’s logistics over Christmas, maybe, just maybe, I wouldn’t lose my shit at you for innocuously commenting that I’d forgotten the milk?

@FreyaMariaO Sounds like just the ticket Freya - I love seeing what you get up to over there! I’m so lucky I know but I just never get a break from people! It was so weird how long it took me this morning to think of things I actually wanted to do without needing to consider anyone else!
Sometimes the summer holidays can be lonely. It can be lovely to see the adventures and memories others are having and making, or hear how ahead they’re getting for September - but sometimes it can sting a little too! I’ve spent a few days doing a needed nothing - but today..
After a slow wander around Lush and Paperchase, giving myself the luxury of seeing, smelling and feeling products rather than hastily scrolling and adding them to my basket, I’m now at the cinema to see a film I would choose, Where The Crawdads Sing. Thus ends my date day!
I had lunch alone at Wagamamas which initially made me nervous - however the servers put me instantly at ease, and made me very welcome. I passed the time reading a book, people watching, and resisting the urge to check the time or complete quick online life-min tasks
Soft play. There’s a child with BOTH parents playing vigorously with them. Just heard a mum near me mutter ‘stop showing us up’ as she flicks through a mag, drinks her third coffee and occasionally goes ‘here’s a drink’ to a rampaging child like a normal soft play parent.
Also it says a lot about the calibre of this soft play that shouts of ‘Ollie? Ollie darling do you want crudités and hummus with your sandwich?’ abound.
