A9: Love @MrBettsClass videos for social studies with my 5th graders, but often find myself pausing to explain the content more in depth for them. Wondering if I could do something with Clips videos to add explanation for them. #D25InteractiveClass
@KimKusiciel Agreed! Parents are already overwhelmed; don't want to throw too much at families right away. My goal is to provide Ss with tools they can be independent with or can learn easily with video tutorials or Zoom instruction.
A4: Going to be gifted with some great kids this year. Eager to get to know them with some virtual icebreakers and beginning of the year surveys. Added some Permission to Feel inspired check-ins to morning writing work, too! #D25InteractiveClass
A3: With a remote start, I think flexible and engaging are my priorities for my learning "space" Any tips for making a Zoom classroom more engaging for Ss? My costumes are limited... #D25InteractiveClass
A8: My biggest takeaway is a better understanding of the โwhyโ behind SBG. I feel I now can better answer to parents why this is a good transition and why our district chose to head in this direction (and why I support it!) #D25SBG
@FanFlauters I would love that! I feel like there's so much good stuff going on on our 5th grade teams, but we never get a chance to share with each other.
A7: Management and how-to make this work efficiently- not only record-keeping of standards, but managing retakes, redos and incomplete work without having a gazillion assignments outstanding that youโre trying to track down #D25SBG
@jcarney4 For sure! Guskey repeatedly says this requires time and resources. Can't say I have lots extra of either ;) It's a worthy investment of both time and resources, just need to figure out how to make it work.
