What’s happening this week in the @SoddyLakers Library? We read St. Patrick’s Day books that featured leprechauns as the protagonists and then came up with a plan on how they’ll catch one if they find it next week! They had so much fun!
As a woman raising future women on #internationalwomensday and every other day, I want my girls to be strong, courageous, ambitious, and full of determination to fulfill their dreams.
As for my girls, I’ll raise them to believe they breathe fire! - Jessica Kirkland
In addition to what we studied during our library classes (previous post), we also had read aloud hour with community members where they came and read to kids on Wednesday! On Thursday, we had our literacy parade (time lapse below)! It’s been an awesome #ReadAcrossAmericaWeek!
What happened in the @SoddyLakers Library this week? We read Dr. Seuss books and discovered he was one of the original masters of rhythmic cadence. Students showed their learning by stepping into Seuss’s shoes and writing their own stories 😍 Kids raided the Dr. Seuss shelves!!
You know what I love? That I can be in any city or town in America with some time to kill, and there is almost always a public library nearby. Literally a building filled with free books and WIFI where people in the community can work, relax, and spend time in quiet.
What’s happening in the @SoddyLakers Library this week? We are studying all things Black History. PK is learning about the letter Q and K is studying the state of Tennessee.
