Sent the kiddos home with their writer’s notebooks to decorate with their families! I wanted their notebooks to symbolize them; reflecting their interests and the most important things in their lives! I think they did a fabulous job, and they loved sharing 📓✏️

This year, I decided to take our procedural writing up a notch and wanted my students to experience the feeling of having their writing professionally published. Thank you @studentreasures for making this possible! Definitely a new core memory for them💛✏️

1st Grade GT Cluster project is now in full effect! We are taking on the TPSP “Animal Nation” project, where our 1st graders will study different animals to learn about their basic needs and ecosystems in which they live.

12 years ago I began The Ready, Set, Teach program at AHS. This is the second year that I am able to mentor a student from the same teaching program and working alongside Mrs. Cantu. This is the best full circle moment I could’ve ever asked for in my teaching career. 🥰

These 2nd graders had their last Creative Writing practice this afternoon and are ready for UIL competition this Saturday ✏️ I remember doing this when I was their age, so getting to coach this event is my favorite part of the school year ☺️
