Teaching young students to care for devices appropriately including: handling, shutting down and storing correctly, may be the most challenging part of technology with first grade! #dytech2021
Twitter has given me a vast Professional Learning Network (PLN). I enjoy learning and sharing with educators across the globe. This has been incredibly helpful in a new position. #intervention#dytech2021
Games are an excellent tool for learning. Students are engaged and less stressed, immersing themselves in the activity. I like bingo, memory and matching type card games for reading, as well as using pop-its for sounds. For math I do lots of dice and card games. #dytech2021
I currently see augmented reality as a great motivator in education, and another mode to deliver information from teacher to student and vice versa. It can also serve as an incentive to complete a task. #dytech2021
Without a doubt, the #21stCenturySkill that remains essential to function in today’s world is Communication. The ability to effectively communicate with others…in all categories and channels, will make or break a successful career. #dytech2021
Technology is the vessel by which 21st century skills can expanded and explored. Technology breaks through the walls of a classroom bringing these critical, interrelated skills to life. Digital citizenship is crucial for these explorations to be safe and effective #dytech2021
For younger students, you can link #digitalcitizenship to the core values of the school, which are revisited daily. I remind students we are Respectful, Responsible, Ready, Caring and Safe when on the iPad too! #dytech2021
