The Canandaigua Lake Watershed Educators came in to 6th grade Science classes this week to share their aquatic macro invertebrates as bio-indicators. The kids had a great time! #onebravesfamily#canandaiguaproud
Grown-up Audiobook:
Lethal White by Robert Galbraith (aka JK Rowling)
My take-away: If you surround yourself with people who tear you down, it’s only a matter of time before they let you down. Time with those who build you up seems like a much more worthwhile investment.
Last week’s audiobook:
Linger (Book 2 in Shiver Series) by @mstiefvater
My take-away: Denial may bring temporary relief but in the end only makes problems bigger. You have the strength to face the hard stuff; let your fear and discomfort spur you into action.

Grown-up Book Club Book of the Month:
The Silent Patient by @AlexMichaelides
Edge of your seat page-turner. So twisty. Best psychological thriller I’ve gotten my hands on in a long time. 🙌
#TherapyofaGoodBook#LetsKeepReading
This week’s audiobook:
Shiver by @mstiefvater
My take-away: Stepping into the unknown can be scary, but it might be exactly what you need.
#LetsKeepReading
This week’s read:
Skeleton Creek by @patrickcarman
Engaging, edge-of-your-seat story told through journal entries, emails, & video clips. Super fun page-turner and talk about a cliffhanger! Guess I’ll have to start reading the next in the series!
#LetsReadAllTheBooks 📚📚📚
Audiobook of the week: Carry On by @rainbowrowell - Harry Potter meets angst to the max
My takeaway: What you can do may change throughout your lifetime, or even from day to day, but you don’t have to let that change who you are.
#bringonthebooks
Grown-up Bookclub Read of the Month: Nine Perfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty
My take-away: If you’ve allowed your ego to convince you that you have all the answers, then you have lost touch with reality, my friend, and you are in for a long and lonely ride. #ReadMoreTalkLess
Holidays mean time for reading actual books. Tangible musty library beauties. And it feels SO good. ❤️
This week -
Sawkill Girls by @clairelegrand
My take-away: What always has been doesn’t mandate how it has to continue. We always have a choice.
#AnyTimeIsReadingTime
A sweet gift from one of my co-teachers on the due date of a big writing piece, which just so happens to also be the day before a holiday break 😆❤️ #survivingandthriving#teacherlife
Over the past week, several of my colleagues have gone out of their way to be kind, to encourage me, and to make me feel noticed and part of the team. As a new teacher in the district, I am blown away. What an incredible place to work! ❤️#OneBravesfamily#CMS#CananadaiguaProud
This week’s audiobook: Far From the Tree by @RobinBenway
“This must be what forgiveness felt like”
Some language to be cautious of for younger readers, but oh, the depth of this book... I laughed. I cried. I held my breath. I’ll be thinking about this one for a while. ❤️🍑
